The Filipino Youth has a choice

Source

I'm glad that our youth today has made up their mind to at least vote for someone. It gives a line of thinking that we hadn't given up yet on improving the status of our country economically and politically.

When asked about whether to vote or not, some people especially younger ones, say that there is no hope for our country, that their votes would be useless. Some teenagers who are qualified to vote didn't even cared to register because they thought that the capability of a candidate to win is a result of sly actions.

Of course it sounds unfair, but can we really blame them? Growing up while seeing how our country slowly sunk into poverty demoralized us, and now that we are on the threshold of coming to the worst, who would think that one vote could make a change? Probably only those who can see a light despite the succumbing darkness. It's sad to say that only few optimistic people look at the bright side.

Despite many undermining things that we grew up to, I feel the consolidation that's starting to give us hope that there is a better future ahead of us, that it's not yet late to trust, and the person that we chose will opt for a change and finally give us assurance that one way or another, our country would be free from the rut where it got stuck for a long time.
